Should You Try Out A Yoga Hammock? (Hint: Yes!)

Have you heard the good news? The Young Hippie is now carrying not one, but two different types of yoga hammocks! Namast-YAY, amirite?

In all seriousness, the time has never been better to try one of these babies out. It’s a low impact, highly effective way to keep your body and mind in shape when you’re stuck at home and need it most (hello, crippling quarantine stress!).

Whether you prefer to hop into the yoga swing (with handles) for your workout or to stretch out your spine in our versatile yoga hammock, The Young Hippie has the product you need. Relief is just a click away.

Still not convinced? Here are a few of the main reasons why you should take the plunge and try a yoga hammock today.

Easy to Access

At-home exercise is having a moment right now, and it’s no surprise why. Gyms are closed all over the world, and most people don’t have regular access to services like physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, and many of the other ways millions of people maintain their overall health.

If you rely on these services, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. A yoga hammock can easily be set up in your own home so you can practice holistic and mindful exercise in the comfort of your living room. You’re just a ceiling hook away from enjoying the benefits of anti-gravity yoga therapy without leaving the house.

Good for the body, and good for the soul. Just when you need it most..

Improves Flexibility

If you’re into yoga, you already know how important flexibility is for your overall well being. And if you’re just getting started, let me tell you: it’s key to feeling good all day every day.

You know how the older you get, the more sore you feel after a good workout? That’s because your natural flexibility diminishes over time. When you work those muscles with our state of the art yoga hammocks, you’re allowing them to stretch out and work gently instead of cranking them into place.

Plus, since mindful yoga encourages focused breathing during your workout, you’ll be getting plenty of oxygen to those muscles. That means less lactic acid, which is the chemical that makes those muscles sting when you’re working out super hard. Bye bye, ow factor.

Relieves Back Pain

Nothing puts a serious cramp in your yoga style like back pain does. You don’t realize how many muscles are connected to your back until they’re compromised and suddenly you’re flat on the couch unable to function. Not fun.

In fact, according to the Journal of General Internal Medicine, back pain is the second leading reason for doctors visits. Kind of a big issue, don’t you think?

There are tons of reasons you might experience back pain in your everyday life. Some of the main factors can include:

  • Poor posture
  • Text or typing hunch (looking at you, office workers)
  • Back strain due to lifting or awkward movement
  • Excess body weight
  • Psychological factors (depression has shown to have a negative impact on your back)

Stretching out your back with our boho yoga hammock can go a loooong way to help relieve the impact of back pain. Inversion therapy is a great tool to decompress your spine, allowing you to resume normal activity in no time. Bye bye, back pain.

Build Core Strength

Since just about every movement you’ll make over the course of a day is linked to your core, it’s super important to make sure it’s in tip top shape to avoid risk of strain or injury.

Yoga is well known for its ability to strengthen up your core, and aerial yoga is especially great for this. Back muscles, hip muscles, and abdominal muscles are all engaged when you’re moving from pose to pose in your yoga hammock. It’s a fun way to work the muscles you use most.

When you use our anti-gravity yoga hammock, you can use the handles to access an even wider range of poses designed to work every part of your body. That means better balance, straighter posture, and a healthier you.

Reduce Stress and Anxiety

There’s a good reason you feel relaxed and ready to take on the world after a session with your yoga hammock.

Like all types of yoga, aerial yoga releases neurotransmitters (aka “happy hormones”) that play a major role in mood regulation and overall happiness. When you focus on mindfulness and calm during your yoga hammock sesh, you’re helping your brain produce these hormones to flood your system with that blissed out relaxed feeling we all love. It’s an easy and holistic way to reach a place of zen while the rest of the world is engulfed in total chaos.

Plus, regular use of your yoga hammock will help you reach a place of enhanced focus. Mindfulness is a practice, and it’s an especially vital one if you’re working from home right now or schooling your kids at the kitchen table. Plus, nothing feels better than wrapping yourself up in the cocoon-like yoga hammock at the end of your yoga practice.

Spending half an hour each day with your yoga hammock is a great way to hone your focus so you’re equipped to tackle the challenges of everyday life. Give it a try—you’ll be glad you did.

This looks like a great addition to any home workout plan. I know that I suffer from back pain from sitting at a computer all day, and am always looking for new ways to address it. I’ll definitely swing over and check these out.
